Study of Economics for New Cardiac Treatment
Problem
Company A wanted to introduce a new treatment to market but lacked important data regarding the economics of the procedure which they needed in order to market intelligently.
Solution
BMS conducted a study to collect relevant data for understanding of the economics of Client's procedure in the inpatient setting. BMS made an analysis based on hundreds of admissions from dozens of clinical sites.
Outcome
BMS successfully surveyed and compared the charges and length of stay for cases with complications or comorbidities vs. cases without complications or comorbidities, as well as compared resource utilization by revenue code. In addition, BMS was able to compare the charge and length of stay data with historical data available via the MedPAR database. BMS submitted in-depth report of results of study to Client.
